Även mässans Coffee Corner inrett av Wis Design gick i femtiotalsanda och turkos.

Formex Spring 2011 - turkos

Som alltid så här inför våren var det väldigt färgglatt i montrarna men vissa färger framträdde oftare än andra. Som turkos i alla nyanser. I vissa fall kan man se lite femtiotal över det hela. Som t ex Ceannis körde med rottingmöbler och turkosa kuddar. Mateus satsade på både mörk och ljus turkos framför turkosa väggar och stora färgglada bilder. Även AnnaO och Linum hade turkosa kuddar med.

At Formex it was a lot of spring colours but some was exposed more than others, like turquoise, often with a feeling of the fifties. These images are from the showcases of Mateus, Ceannis, Linum and AnnaO.

Formex Spring 2011 - i vimlet

Bloggänget 'front row' under pressfrukosten - från vänster Charlotte, Maliin, Henrick, Anna, jag, Daniella och Sofie och höger sida Annika, Annika och Stina. Jannice fotar. Mässans internationelle trendspanare Vincent Grégoire presenterade sig. Kändisarna duggade tätt under den första dagen och jag lyckades få några på bild. Ernst Kirchsteiger stod i monter och visade upp sina produkter, Jannice var snabbt framme. Maria Montazami har smart nog tagit tillfället i akt och visade upp en väskkollektion, en smyckeskollektion och en hel monter med bara tofsar. Formex spring 2011 - entréutställningen

Tillbaka igen efter en hektisk dag på Formex. Tufft program om man ska hinna med allt. Sen blir det ju en massa pratande och hejande och möte med en massa trevliga människor. Mitt totala intryck var att det i år var en ganska liten mässa med härliga vårfärger visserligen men inte mycket nytt. Mässans entréutställning brukar alltid vara lite spektakulär och något som det 'snackas' om och det var den den här gången också. Det var återigen Jan Rundgren som stod för designen och man kan ju, om man ska vara lite kritisk, fråga sig varför. Inget ont om Jan Rundgren men det skulle vara kul att få se någon helt annan någon gång. Temat 'Glorious Mix' blev med utgångspunkt i en 60-tals poolvilla a la Hollywood en blandning mellan 50-tal, 60-tal och 70-tal som kändes riktigt kul. Lite retro, lite art deco, lite kitschigt - allti en skön mix. Ett poolparty med flamingos, guld, glamour, fest och riktig partykänsla... men det var bara i början. Ju längre bak i montern man kom desto längre från den känslan kom man och det började smått flippa ur och in kom asiatisk stil, barockinslag, bohemisk boudoir. Helgardering eller?

Back again from Formex exhibition. This is my images from Formex entrance exhibition. Its on display the first thing you see in the entrance hall and it shows the theme of the exhibition which this time was 'Glorious Mix'. And it really was a glamourous mix with a pool villa from the sixties mixed with a modern style of kitsch and retro influenced by the design of the fifties and the seventies. A fun pool party with bright colours and even flamingos and a sitting group was included. It was the designer Jan Rundgren who has designed this entrance exhibition. Rundgren also did the one last year. I can't help thinking why Rundgren again, he is good, but again. It was a fun idea even if I think it wasn't complete, in the back of the show case there was influences of asia, baroque, bohemian boudoir... why?

Formex Spring 2011

Idag börjar Formex och jag kommer att vara där hela dagen från pressfrukosten på morgonen. Ska bli jättekul! Temat för mässan är den här gången 'Glorious mix' vilket känns som om det är ett tema som skulle kunna passa mig väldigt bra. Så här beskriver man temat:

'Det mixade, matchade och återbrukade där gammalt och nött blivit nytt igen har fått ett starkt fäste här i Norden. Men nu händer det saker! Vi har börjat längta efter design, konst och skinande blanka ytor igen.'

Today I am in Stockholm at the exhibition Formex. The theme of the exhibition this time is 'Gloroius Mix'. Sounds like its something for me. I will be back tomorrow with the latest news from the exhibition.

Stylish Blogger Award

I got this wonderful blog award called 'Stylish Blogger Award' from the beautiful blog Belle Francaise Interiors. I feel really honored and I will do my best to follow the rules. It says that I have to tell 7 facts about myself and then send this award to ten new blogs. The last part is no problem, there are so many great blogs out there, but the 7 facts about my self. This is tough, I have already told everything several times on this blog. But I have got a lot of new readers lately, thanks to Apartment Therapy that told everyone on facebook that they liked my blog. So I will do this 7 facts like a presentation of myself. In case anyones interested.

1. Me. This is how I look. Normal lenght, overweight (the image is from last summer, much fatter now), blond hair (with some help). To old to mention. Actually I'm not very interested in how I look, strange but true. I don't even wear make up very often.

2. My house. I live in south of Sweden just outside Malmö in a house that we built 13 years ago. I live with my family and we have two boys in the age of 11 and 13. This is how it looks like. More images go to purplearea.com or to 'Hemma hos mig' in the category list.

3. My style. As you can see my interior style is contemporary. I like the raw style with concrete but also natural materials like wood and stone. I like a clean style with not too much stuff. I appreciate the natural light from the windows. I like open plan both in private homes and offices. It feels so much better with a lot of air instead of walls.

4. Work. I work as an interior decorator with my own company (Purple Area) and most of my clients are companies that wants to change the interior at their offices. Sometimes I also work with family homes. When I work with offices I use a lot of colours and try to avoid the regular way to look at an office, I always try to put some party feeling to the atmosphere. I think it should be fun and inspiring to go to work. More images at purplearea.com.

5. Interests. I love gardening and my garden. This is the number one if Im not blogging or working. In my garden I like the wild style with a lot of tall grass and wild flowers. I also like it to be like a 'woodland' in some parts. More images under 'Hemma hos mig'.

6. More. When its winter and I cant be in the garden, I like to read and I read a lot. I even joined a book club. How nurdy isnt that. I read everything but mostly criminal stories or just a good story. My latest book was 'One day' by David Nicholls. A great book about a very modern love story. Read it!

7. Even more. That have to be films. I love to watch a good movie, If I could choose I would have watched one every night. But who has got the time for that. I don't go to the cinema a lot so its often something on the tv. Lately its been Robin Hood (a new one, loved the interior in the castles) and Chanel (interesting). A favorite is Notting Hill (love the english humour).

Dramatik versus jordnära

Det här rummet har en så spännande balans mellan de dramatiska gardinerna, rymden i rummet och de naturliga och jordnära materialen som trä och linne. Det är lite kargt på något sätt som tilltalar mig och det är också skönt att se att man använder mörkt grå och naturvit istället för det vanliga svart och vitt.

This room has an exciting balance between the dramatic curtains, the airy room and the natural and earth to ground materials like wood and linen. I also like that they have used dark grey and natural white instead of the usual black and white.

Smart lösning på tv dilemmat

Det här med tvn är ju ett dilemma för oss inredare. Men är inte det här från Norm Architects bara en så smart idé. Svart vägg med en inbyggd tv - får tv att försvinna nästan helt.

Its always a dilemma how to do with the tv, but isn't this idea from Norm Architects just a great way to deal with this. A black wall with an inbuilt tv.

Nordiskt blont

Det var länge sen man hörde uttrycket nordiskt blont, men det här danska huset ritat av Norm Architects känns för mig som ett typexempel. Funktionalistisk arkitektur med öppen planlösning och vackra enkla linjer med mycket vitt och mycket ljus. Ljusa träslag tillsammans med vita möbler och en del enstaka inslag av svart. Norm Architecs är företaget som bl a ritat den lilla lampan 'Milk Lamp' som figurerar flitigt i inredningsmagsinen.

Heard of the expression 'Nordic Blond'? I don't mean the hair colour, I mean this kind of architecture and interior. I think this is typical for the genre that we (maybe this is only in Sweden) call Nordic Blond. Its white, light, functional with furniture in white and light tree. The materials are natural materials like bricks, stone, steel and wood. This house and interior is the work of the danish company Norm Architects who also designed the lamp 'Milk Lamp'.
